Our Team
Ranging the Gaps is a research symposium organised by Lillian and Tillie, a pair of Film Studies PhD students at the University of Manchester who are passionate about researching unexplored and under-amplified stories within national film archives.

Lillian Wang
Lillian Wang (she/her) is a 2nd year PhD student in Film Studies at the University of Manchester. She has an industry background as a screenwriter and executive producer for film and television. As a film scholar, she is interested in film archives and national identities in film, particularly in post-colonial and Asian diasporic contexts.

Tillie Quattrone
Tillie (she/her) holds AA Liberal Arts, BA Drama and Film, and MA Film Studies degrees from institutions across the USA and UK. Her Film Studies PhD research explores the implications of digital de-ageing in Hollywood as they concern the industry’s ongoing relationships with gender, race, and canonical historicisation thereof.
